Beta testers sought for Ruthwell Cross viewer
The Visionary Cross project is preparing a launch of a beta version of its Ruthwell Cross viewer.
This is a web-based 3D facsimile of the Ruthwell Cross with annotations suitable for students and the general public. It should be of interest to students, online members of the general public, and professional art historians, linguists, historians, and literary specialists who teach the Ruthwell Cross as part of undergraduate or graduate courses.
For this initial beta test, we are seeking volunteers who would be willing to consider using the viewer in their classes and/or recommending it to their students. As part of the beta-testing process, we will be asking questions about usability, content, and use-cases.
The ideal beta-testers for this release will be comfortable with cloud-based computer and willing to experiment pedagogically with new approaches to the representation of medieval cultural heritage. If you are interested in incorporating this trial version in your classes, please contact email@example.com. Invitations will also be sent to the main medieval mailing lists in early January.
